Because of the gift of life through a stem cell transplant, I support and regularly donate to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.   Through one of their programs, my donor daughter was given a handsome grant just days after her procedure.  I gave birth to her, she gave life to me, LLS gave gratitude to her.

Likewise, if you can donate, please do.  To see if you are a match, it only takes a swab of the inside of your cheek.  Painless, selfless but endless hope.

Are you expecting a baby?  Please consider donating your cord blood cells, during your delivery.  Those cells may be preserved and matched to someone like me, who may be in need.  You can save a life!

 

African Americans are the least likely to donate, but the most needed in blood banks.
